|In 1987 I bought new
equipment. A synthesizer and a drummachine and a bit later a mixer. How
I could manage without a mixer remains a mystery for me today. I used to
use my old piano for composing and recording. The piano was slightly.....
no, it was just plain out of tune. I would still use it for composing a
bit, but never record it again. Later in 1990, I gave it back to the guy
I borrowed it from and realized that I've borrowed it for nearly 15 years.
With the new equipment I tried to cut down the ping-pong layers when recording, which would improve the sound much. No acoustic piano and skipping the bass track by playing it on the keyboard, while doing the right-hand part simultaneoulsy.
"Your Love" was the first song I worte on my new equipment (an attempt to write a disco song, "love Chaser" was another attempt), On "Your Love" the drummachine was trigging the bass-line on the synthesizer. It required a lot of programming, so it would be the first and last song, on which, I used this feature. The rest of the songs are more in the rockish vein, of which some even have parts, I would call progressive.
